Upham 1-Mile Quickie NW

Great shore-runner practice run on NW wind direction, especially with incoming tide. Waves break well over the sandbar just after the pass. Once you catch a ride, it is easy to walk back to the starting point.

Brent’s Run at Ft. Desoto – NE

One of our most favorite short practice runs. Brent’s Run is great after overnight NE 13-15kt wind and opposing incoming tide into the bay. Best if you time it just in the middle of the tide according to Vince, our local DW OG.

Rob’s Run at Courtney Campbell 9-15km – W

Great bay run practice run but must be straight W wind direction to create enough fetch. Works well on high or incoming tide. Waves may get nice and big by the middle of the bridge which is also the first safety bail out point. The shorter 9 km end point is at the Ben T Davis Beach. The longer version goes to Cypress Point Park.

Baby Vista to Scenic 5-Miler – E or ENE

Great Bay run with excellent logistics from Skyway kite beach or Scenic. The wind must be straight E or ENE wind direction to create enough fetch. Works well on high or incoming tide. Waves may get nice and big by the middle of the run but will decrease. There is no safety bail out point especially if ride out to the middle of the TB channel with strong current. This is a shorter and beginner friendly version of Lassing to Skyway run.
